2 Comments Bianca Chang’s Paper Letters

Monomoda just posted a small article on Australian designer Bianca Chang and her paper letters. Cutting the the same form over and over with subtle shape differences, Bianca has developed a lovely new take on sculptural typography. Makes me want to grab a ruler, a blade, and some 100% recycled paper, and get slicing!

Bianca also works at Frost Design in Sydney.

0 Comments Owen Gildersleeve

Paper art, or craft/tactile design, or the DIY movement, or whatever you want to call it was no doubt huge around three years ago, but seems to have exhausted it’s fifteen minutes as of recent. With the recent resurgence of hand-drawn or clumsy-but-cute campaigns, I have a feeling craft design is making it’s official comeback. And when I come across such inventive work from artists like Owen Gildersleeve, I’m only more and more positive.

Owen turned it up a notch with a number of his recent pieces, and its really stoking my curiosities of the craftier side of design.

From what I can gather, La Bolleur is a Dutch artist collective that builds excellent mini golf courses. This certainly places Putt Putt in the corner!

0 Comments Chrissie MacDonald

You’ve probably seen the work of Chrissie MacDonald somewhere along the way, having done paper/craft work for some pretty major clients, including Creative Review. Most paper work is playful, clumsy, and childish, but Chrissie has maintained an un-matched attention to finely tuned detail!

0 Comments Typographic Mobiles by Ebon Heath

I’ve seen some great paper work in the recent years, but the work of Ebon Heath beats them all! Heath is based in Brooklyn, teaches graphic design at Lehmann College, and puts his free time to far better use than I can say for myself.

Yatzer conducts an in-depth interview with Ebon Heath—plus plenty more images of his work as well!

1 Comment New Work by Leif Podhajsky

I feel like celebrating whenever I see the work of Leif Podhajsky—and now I get to celebrate a little more, because there are a handful of new pieces on his site!. It’s the sort of manipulated imagery and collage work that I wish I were the author of. I know I shouldn’t end a sentence with “of,” but it’s true.

NSFW Caution: Look out for Coagulated Physique, it’s awesome but save it for later!
