Route 194

Just off the side of MD Route 194 is a house that has been overgrown in recent years, by wild plants. Each time I drive past, I am overwhelmed with curiosity. Who owns the property? It doesn't seem like anyone occupies the house, yet there is a mailbox. A driveway. Surely a family lived here at one point, but who is responsible for maintenance now? What will come of the site in time? Will the county allow these plants to continue devouring the home until it is completely hidden from plain view? Is the current dilapidated status of the structure a cause for concern?

These are the sorts of thoughts I had as I shot these photos. But what really captivates me is the sheer triumph of weeds and wild grass. Due to negligence and utter disregard, the owner of this property has made a very peculiar and unintentional sort of donation; the wood and other natural materials that were once used to build a home, are now reclaimed by the earth.
